Lotus Rises & Flying Phoenix

Dear Sisters,

Imagine we are standing on the beach, looking directly out to the sea. We stretch our arms towards the sky and deepen our connection to the earth through our legs and feet. Above us, we see the wide, clear sky and gaze towards the horizon. We imagine roots growing from the soles of our feet into the earth. Our spine stretches and we breathe out. Again: we are taking another gentle, deep breath in and then exhale slowly.

Calm returns to our mind. We feel the energy of the North Sea and the fresh air blowing away everything that no longer serves us. Gently we bring our arms and hands to our heart and softly place them on this ancient place of power. We open up to find an intention, a wish, a deep longing, and whisper it into the air of this precious Ocean Land.

At this Ocean Lodge, we will pay special attention to the Signature Movement of the Radiant Lotus practice: “Lotus rises through muddy waters” and the expanding forms of “Flying Phoenix.” These movements effectively help us to release the effects of past experiences on our bodies and emotions. We can then make peace with our past and recognize the value and the treasures of our present life. New ideas and possibilities will eventually appear on our inner and outer horizons.

In the subsequent Writing Life Lodge, we will explore the potential of these ways of seeing and acting in greater depth.
